One hour inside the slot canyon with a Navajo guide: 1.1 miles round trip, five flights of stairs and eight ladders, from $94.
Updated 15 October 2026
This is the shortest guided route into Lower Antelope: one hour, from $94, all fees and taxes included, with a Navajo guide alongside you from the booth to the exit. A Navajo guide is compulsory at every Antelope Canyon location, so there is no version of this walk you can do on your own.
Five flights of stairs drop you about 35 meters into the largest cavern on the route, and eight ladders with handrails carry you back up through the narrower upper stretch. Navajo Parks describes Lower Antelope as narrow with steep stairs and warns that it may not suit visitors who are claustrophobic. If stairs and ladders are the problem rather than the tight walls, take the two-hour photo boating excursion instead and see the canyon walls from the water.
Groups run up to 15 people. Guides spend the hour pointing out where to stand for photographs and talking through the Navajo Sandstone, the plants and the Navajo history of the place. Tripods and monopods are banned inside the canyon; a phone or a camera on a wrist strap is all you can use, and that is enough in light this bright.
Every tour time here runs on Arizona time, Mountain Standard Time with no daylight saving, even though the surrounding Navajo Nation does observe it. A 9:00 a.m. slot means 9:00 a.m. in Page in July exactly as in January, so check what your phone is doing before you set off from the hotel.
Closures happen. The park can shut at short notice when there is flash-flood risk, and the National Weather Service puts the Arizona monsoon between 15 June and 30 September, with most of the rain arriving from the first week of July. Keep a spare half-day in July, August and September. March to November is the busy window and slots go early, so fix the time before you fix the rest of the day.

All the options below are guided walks through the same canyon, and they differ in length, group size and what the guide covers.
