Two hours on Lake Powell in a small open-bow boat, into the water end of Antelope Canyon and back past Glen Canyon Dam.
Updated 15 October 2026
Two hours on the water, from $199 per adult, rated 5.0 ★ (245 reviews). The boat leaves from the Wahweap launch ramp off 100 Wahweap Blvd in Page, next to Wahweap Marina. It is an open-bow hull with the group capped at six, which is what lets the captain turn into the narrower arms of the canyon that enclosed boats stay out of, and it means nobody is shooting over three rows of heads.
Nothing on this trip involves climbing. You see Navajo Sandstone from the waterline rather than from the canyon floor, so it is the option to choose if stairs, ladders or very tight passages are a problem; Lower Antelope has flights of steel stairs bolted into the rock and Navajo Parks warns it is narrow. The captains hold U.S. Coast Guard licences, share local history and geography in English as they go, and will help with poses, exposure and where to sit for the light.
The captained boat and the fuel surcharge are in the price. Glen Canyon National Recreation Area requires a national park pass, which is on you, and gratuities are not included. Antelope Canyon is a designated wakeless zone, so the run through the canyon itself is slow.
Departure times run on Arizona time, Mountain Standard Time all year, with no clock change in summer even though the surrounding Navajo Nation does change. From mid-June to the end of September the monsoon can shut things down at short notice, so keep a spare half-day in July, August and September. Between June and September pack a towel: a quick swim inside the canyon is part of the trip on warm days.
Small open-bow boat, six passengers at most, captained and fuelled, from the Wahweap launch ramp off 100 Wahweap Blvd in Page. Two hours covering the canyon walls, Wahweap Bay and Glen Canyon Dam.

Take the boat if you want two hours, a captain doing the driving and the camera coaching, and no paddling: from $199, rated 5.0 ★ (245 reviews). Take a kayak if you would rather earn the view and have half a day free; the three paddling trips below run 3.5 to 4 hours from $119 or $129, and each pairs time on Lake Powell with a hike into the water end of the canyon.
One practical difference: the boat leaves from the Wahweap launch ramp west of Page, while the kayak trips put in at Antelope Point, 9 road miles and about 15 minutes from town.
