What Antelope Canyon tickets cover

A Navajo guide comes with every ticket on this page, because that is the only way in. There is no self-guided route and no section of Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park you can enter on your own, so what you are paying for is a timed slot and a guide who walks the group through the sandstone.

The tickets split by canyon first and price second. Upper Antelope (Tse'bighanilini, the place where water runs through rocks) has a walkable section about 660 feet (200 m) long, now done as a one-way route, with a two-hour limit on time inside in force since 1 May 2011; its entrance and whole length are at ground level, so no climbing is involved.

Lower Antelope (Hasdez'twazi', the spiral role arches) runs about 1,335 feet (407 m) and is entered by flights of stairs and ladders with handrails bolted into the walls. Navajo Parks warns that it is narrow with steep stairs and may not suit visitors who are claustrophobic. Antelope Canyon X lies southeast of Lower Antelope, takes fewer people and is walked in about an hour.

The Navajo Nation entry fee for Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park is $15 per person per entry and is charged separately from guided tour prices, so read the inclusions line by line. The from $99 Lower Antelope Canyon Tour Ticket covers a Navajo Nation Permit fee of $8 per person plus the Lower Antelope admission. Both from $75 Lower Antelope tickets list the permit fee and the admission as included. On the from $115 Upper Antelope ticket the permit is included for bookings made from 1 May, by booking date rather than tour date, and a check-in service fee is paid in cash on arrival.

Antelope Canyon is not part of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, so America the Beautiful and Glen Canyon passes are not accepted here. If you walk both Upper and Lower on the same day, keep the tribal fee receipt and you avoid paying the Navajo entry fee twice.

Light beams are an Upper Antelope sight from April through September, and only on clear, sunny days; beams in early April and late October are smaller and shorter-lived. In Antelope Canyon X they appear from May through early August, with the popular window between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. All tour times run on Arizona time, Mountain Standard with no daylight saving, while the surrounding Navajo Nation does change its clocks, so check what your phone is showing before you set off.

Which one fits you

If you are in Page with a car and one free hour, book the Lower Antelope Canyon Admission Ticket, from $75, 1.5 hours, 4.6 ★ (2519 reviews). The Navajo guide, the permit, the admission and a timed entry reservation are all in the price, and your final time is confirmed within three days of booking.

The other from $75 option, the Lower Antelope Canyon Ticket, 1.5 hours, 4.5 ★ (1376 reviews), adds Navajo sales tax and free parking. Lower Antelope runs north to south and lights up in the early hours and late morning, so take a slot in that part of the day.

Light beams mean Upper Antelope, and two tickets here go inside: from $115 for 1 to 1.5 hours, 4.4 ★ (759 reviews), and from $130 for 1 to 2 hours, 4.2 ★ (1225 reviews). The from $130 ticket includes the Navajo tour guide and parking fees, with the permit covered except on the 8:45 a.m., 11:05 a.m., 1:25 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Tse departures. The from $115 ticket asks you to check in 45 minutes early at Tse Bighanilini and to pay the check-in service fee in cash.

Stairs and ladders rule Lower Antelope out for some visitors. Upper Antelope is entered at ground level and stays level the whole way, so the from $130 Upper Antelope ticket, 1 to 2 hours, is the one to pick if knees or steps are the problem.

When crowds are the deal-breaker, take Antelope Canyon X, from $82, 1 hour, 4.6 ★ (681 reviews). It sits southeast of Lower Antelope, mixes A-shaped and V-shaped walls and sees fewer visitors than either of the two main canyons. Children aged 3 and under need a car seat and ages 4 to 8 a booster seat, supplied by you.

For the fullest inclusions on paper, the Lower Antelope Canyon Tour Ticket runs from $99, 1 to 1.5 hours, 4.7 ★ (2026 reviews), with the $8 per person Navajo permit and the Lower Antelope admission both covered. Hotel pick-up is not part of any ticket on this page, so plan the drive out of Page yourself.
